We were both lecturing at Monash when we started noticing the same thing every semester. Our students were sharp, well qualified, and getting nowhere. They'd send out forty applications and hear back from none of them, with no way of knowing what had gone wrong.

Then we looked at the numbers. Graduate roles in Australia were drawing an average of 140 applicants. Digital and IT roles were closer to 205. The advice everyone gives — tailor your resume, personalize your cover letter, follow up — is correct, and it's also close to impossible to do properly forty times over while you're broke and running out of runway. We'd also spent years on the other side of that table. Between us we've run more than 700 technical interviews and read tens of thousands of resumes — writing the job descriptions, working through the stack of applications, sitting on the panel, making the call. We knew what survived the first pass and what didn't. We also knew how little of that was ever visible to the people writing the applications.

That gap is the reason Seekario exists. Not that AI can write your resume, but that the standards a resume is actually judged against are knowable, and almost nobody outside the hiring room gets told what they are.
