Part 2: How to Target Your Resume For a Specific Job

We're going to take your great resume from Part 1 and customize it for a specific job. This "targeting" or “personalization” is the best way to show hiring managers you're the perfect fit.

Here's how we do it.

Step 1: Add Your Ideal Job to Your AI Job Board

First, you need to tell us about the job you want to apply for.

1. In the Welcome tab, click on "Add your first job in the job tracker".
2. You'll see a few ways to add the job. The easiest ways are:
   
   • From URL: Copy the link to a single job advertisement and paste it in the box.
   • Manual Import: You can copy and paste the job title, job description, and company name yourself.
3. Click Import. A new 'Job Card' will appear on your board. This is where all the customization for this job will happen.

Step 2: Connect Your Resume to the Job

You've told us about the job. Now, just tell us which resume to use.

1. Click on the new Job Card you just created in Step 1. It opens up the card details.
2. Choose the resume you want to customize from the ‘Resume’ dropdown box.

A Career Coach's Tip: We always recommend you tailor your resume first if your resume score is low. Get it to a place where you're happy with it and the "Assess" score is good. This tailored resume now becomes the "master" document for your application. Use this resume to create your cover letter, KSC letter, LinkedIn profile, and interview prep.
